The easiest and quickest way to start with Timesheet is by signing up for a 30 day free SaaS period. After signing up you will receive an e-mail with the link to your newly created Timesheet environment and login information.

Download Timesheet and install it on one of your own servers. A license key for up to 10 users is supplied. If you want to test it out with more users (or if you want all the functionality of the payed version), then we can supply you with a temporary license key for the number of licenses you need (this will also unlock the functionality that is not available in the freeware version).

•   Integration with other systems   •

Journyx Timesheet was developed using open standards and architecture. Timesheet currently runs on Windows 2000/2003, Windows XP/Vista, AIX, Solaris, Linux and FreeBSD. Additionally, Timesheet works with many popular databases including MS SQL, Oracle and DB2 and PostgreSQL. Access to Timesheet data is not dependent on any specific operating system, database, environment, or external application. By extension, this allows Journyx to integrate seamlessly, more efficiently, and in a multitude of ways.

There are multiple ways to import and export data, you can use:

  • text files (exports can be made to Excel after which the file can be saved in the required format),
  • an intermediate database table on a scheduled basis or
  • or the jxAPI (Journyx Application Program Interface). The jxAPI is a remote, network-accessible interface to a Journyx Timesheet server that allows your client application to manipulate the contents of a Timesheet installation without directly modifying the underlying database. You can use the jxAPI for remote time and expense input, transferring information between Timesheet and another system, and much more.

The jxAPI is a standard XML API using the industry standard SOAP (Simple Object Application Protocol) that provides an easy framework for accessing Timesheet's list of data fields and tying them together in a standard way. You can use it with almost any language or application platform including Microsoft .NET, Java, and popular scripting languages. This direct connection avoids problems that used to exist with data corruption and the need to produce custom automation scripts for data transfer. Because SOAP is built on the same protocols as the web, you can use the jxAPI to build applications that access your Timesheet service from anywhere on the Internet or on your corporate intranet. (If you can access the web interface of Journyx Timesheet, your application can access the jxAPI.)

The Journyx Professional Services Team has successfully integrated Journyx solutions with literally hundreds of payroll, HR and ERP systems.
The Journyx Professional Services Team stands ready to help you integrate Journyx software with any system. Our solutions utilize XML/SOAP interfaces to make integration with your organization's business processes and systems a snap. If your application of choice isn't covered by one of the integration methods listed above, please contact us to tell us what you need.

•   Open standards: The Flexibility To Meet Your Needs   •

In the past, specific knowledge of each proprietary product was required in order to develop integrations from the time tracking application to existing customer systems. With the progress being made in the open source movement to develop standards for database objects that represent particular types of data, application-specific knowledge is becoming less necessary. Timesheet 7.0 includes the jxAPI, a standard XML API using SOAP (Simple Object Application Protocol), which provides an easy framework for accessing each program's list of data fields and tying them together in a standard way. This direct connection (data source to data source) avoids problems that used to exist with data corruption and the need to produce custom automation scripts for data transfer. Most Journyx customers do more than simply capture and report on time and expense data. In order to realize the full benefits of Timesheet, they automate the transfer of this data to other systems for processing. Among other things, the jxAPI and our commitment to open standards make this possible.

Because Journyx has implemented support for the latest standards published by the open source movement for Web Services, our solutions can be "plugged in" to a customer's existing infrastructure easily, which translates to the greatest cost/time savings possible for our customers. Further, the use of these open standards makes it possible for Journyx customers to develop integrations themselves. Journyx has a number of customers and partners who have implemented integrations using the jxAPI to talk to their other applications and, because it doesn't take specific knowledge of Timesheet to write the integration, they can use any programming language on any platform as needed.

Journyx Solutions fit into the way you already do business, rather than forcing you to change. We're flexible that way.
