The easiest and quickest way to start with Timesheet is by signing up for a 30 day free SaaS period. After signing up you will receive an e-mail with the link to your newly created Timesheet environment and login information.

Download Timesheet and install it on one of your own servers. A license key for up to 10 users is supplied. If you want to test it out with more users (or if you want all the functionality of the payed version), then we can supply you with a temporary license key for the number of licenses you need (this will also unlock the functionality that is not available in the freeware version).

•   Add additional functionality to Timesheet   •

The Journyx Professional Services Team stands ready to help you integrate Journyx software with any system. Our solutions utilize XML/SOAP interfaces to make integration with your organization's business processes and systems a snap. If your application of choice isn't covered by one of the integration methods listed above, please contact us to tell us what you need.

Journyx offers several standard "off the shelf" integrations for use with our industry-leading Journyx TimesheetTM application:

•   Projectlink, standard integration with MS Project   •

Projectlink™, the Journyx Timesheet™ integration for Microsoft Project and Project Server, provides your team members with an interface for tracking detailed project actuals at any time from any location. Projectlink provides your managers with accurate, up-to-date status for project coordination and cost control.

This module (screenshots) enables the import and export of data between Journyx Timesheet and MS Project. Journyx Timesheet receives, through synchronization, the following information from MS Project: Projects (Tasks), Project estimate and status, Resources and Assignments. MSP organizes projects into a hierarchy of Summary Tasks and Loggable Tasks. Each Task can be assigned to a number of Resources in order to create one or more Assignments. In Journyx Timesheet, Tasks are represented as Projects, Resources are represented as Users, and Task Assignments are represented as Groups (groups determine which projects users can track time against).

•   LDAP, Lightweight Directory Acces Protocol   •

Are you tired of hearing your users complain that they already have too many login names and passwords to remember? Do you want to use the regular network login instead of a new separate login id and password? The optional LDAP module enables you to do just that.

There are 2 versions of the LDAP integration 'Password only' and 'Full Integration', either for a Windows environment or a UNIX/POSIX environment. Since every company's network is different, all LDAP configurations will be different. To help you set up LDAP with Journyx Timesheet, several hours of support from a Journyx Professional Developer is included in the price of the module.

•   Single Sign On Tool for Timesheet   •

The Journyx Single Sign On (SSO) tool offers an authentication mechanism for Timesheet that allows users to avoid the need to log in manually. The authentication mechanism is based on HTTP headers, and is designed to be implemented within a preexisting intranet infrastructure.

•   Disconnected Clients   •

The Journyx Disconnected Client™ allows the use of email forms to track time, expenses, mileage, and projects without being connected to the Internet. Journyx Disconnected Client™ expands standard Journyx Timesheet data capture capabilities. Disconnected Client allows employees in the field to enter their critical tracking data without being connected to the Internet. Through the innovative application of technology, email forms can be used for time, expense, and mileage entry, as well as project creation. Data can be entered in downloaded email forms and saved to the local system. When finished, the completed forms can be sent via return email for synchronization with the journyx database when Internet access is again available.

•   Rate Manager   •

Journyx Rate ManagerTM expands standard Journyx Timesheet payroll and billing automation capabilities. This module is, as of version 8.0, part of the standard functionality (only in payed version).

•   Data Validation Tool   •

Data Validation Rules provide a mechanism that allows Timesheet administrators to configure flexible rules to enforce certain key restrictions on how users enter their time. These rules are assigned to Groups, which makes it easy to set rules for specific types of employees such as hourly workers, salaried employees and contractors. There are five separate types of validation rules, which are configured separately:

  • Hour rejection rules.
Users will not be able to submit their timesheets if the time that they enter fails any of the configured hour rejection rules.
  • Dropdown restriction rules.
Dropdown restriction rules prevent users from logging time against specific projects, tasks, pay types, or bill types.
  • Minute increment rules.
Minute increment rules check that the amount entered for any one line is either in whole hours or in minute increments divisible by the increments specified.
  • Future entry restrictions.
Future entry restrictions prevent users from entering time for any date beyond the one on which they are entering time.
  • Holiday Validation
Time can only be tracked to the holiday pay type on days that are specified as holidays.

•   Budget Allocation Tool   •

This module displays the estimated hours for a project per user at the bottom of the time entry screen (screenshot) . Next to the budgeted hours, the user also sees how much time he has already spend on a project. The advantage of this is that a user can take action (like talking to his project leader) when he estimates that the remaining hours are not sufficient for completing the job. Besides the estimated hours and the remaining hours, all the custom fields you have defined at the project level can be displayed (e.g. the start and end date of the project, the name of the project leader, etc.).
